Sodom, a heavy metal band formed in 1981, in Gelsenkirchen, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. The group had a revolving line-up. They released a few Vietnam-related songs: "Persecution Mania" (1987) on Persecution Mania, "Agent Orange" and "Magic Dragon" (1989) on Agent Orange, "Capture the Flag" (1990) on Better Off Dead, and "Among the Weidcong" & "Napalm in the Morning" (2001) on M-16.This album contained a couple Vietnam-related tracks. The song "Magic Dragon" , which dealt with the Vietnam War, describing a combat situation: "no Vietcong can move in sustained fire, orders are clear - win the war...let sheets of fire hail down the base" . Also on this album the title song, "Agent Orange" (Steamhammer # SPV 08-7596), dealt with the defoliant/herbicide used by U.S. forces during the Vietnam War, which had long term negative health effects, and featured in many post-war songs: "spray down the death... cancer creeps into their innocent souls... poisoned till the end of their lives" .
