A1. Female chorus with 16-string zither (đàn tranh). Sleeve notes: Quang Binh is the province bordering the demarcation line, under daily US bombing; based on the region's folk music. Same song as VWSP2286 (Kim Oanh, 1966) and VWSP3592 (Chinese release, 1966). Recorded live 25 December 1968, Bunkyo Kokaido, Tokyo. Artist likely the same ensemble as 'Song and Dance Ensemble of DRV' (VWSP3584 etc.) - see flag.
About the artist
Official state song and dance ensemble of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (North Vietnam), based in Hanoi; toured Japan in November-December 1968 under the sponsorship of Zenkoku Roon, the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association and Nihon Denpa News.
