Annotation — European Songs

Black Metal band formed in December 2021 in Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany, comprised of HvS [Chris Neumann] (all instruments), and MvM [Daniel-Sebastian Meisen] (vocals). The song "My Lai Massacre" (digital, self-release) was another metal song to look at the My Lai Massacre - the mass murder of between 300-500 civilians in the South Vietnamese area known as "Pinkville", containing the hamlets, known as My Lai 4 and My Khe 4, and throughout the area of Song My, by US forces on 16 March 1968. It took the perspective of a soldier: "we take orders". It described in blunt, brutal words the massacre: "kill and rape", and the indiscriminate killings: "infants, women and men". It described the massacre as a "play area for madmen", but that in war "we all behave like swine".
