The track "Viet Nam Blues" appears to be the only single by the obscure R&B / soul singer Sylvia Maddox. Released on the Memphis, Tennessee label Duke Records (#408) in 1966, the song expressed a mother's loneliness, because "Uncle Sam has taken my baby...to Vietnam".

Unknown - "Viet Nam Blues" b/w "Got To Be Free" (Duke Records 408, 1966, standard and promo issues). The writer credit reads "S. Crite", and Discogs carries a "Sylvia Crite" artist entry whose only linked credit is this release - possibly the artist's own name, unconfirmed. Duke was Don Robey's Houston label - label geography. A different song from the Kristofferson/Dudley "Vietnam Blues" and from row 3167's; repeated titles are separate recordings per the standing rule. [Source: Discogs]
