Snooky Pryor, born James Edward Pryor on 15 September 1921 in Lambert, Mississippi, USA. He died on 18 October 2006 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, USA. Known for his harmonic playing, he was part of the Chicago Blues scene. He served in the US army during World War Two. The song "Uncle Sam Don't Take My Man" (J.O.B. Records # 1126), released on Chicago, Illinois record label notes "every time I pick up a paper, I can read something about the war". It looked at the domestic perspective, "I can just hear women screaming and crying". Also note the reference to the atomic bomb, a reflection of the Cold War era: "Yes I believe I'll drop the bomb".
