A bluegrass political novelty about the 1968 election and the Vietnam War, which referenced the main candidates Richard Nixon and Hubert Humphrey, the outgoing president Lyndon B. Johnson, and backed the candidacy of George Wallace, the governor of Alabama, who ran on a racist platform, supporting segregation and discrimination. This song, on side two, "Telling It Straight in '68 - Part 2" (Orange # W-1968), which referenced the demonstrations outside the Democratic convention, not surprisingly took the side of the police and Mayor Richard J. Daley, calling the demonstrators "commies". The song dealt with Vietnam, and issues around Civil Rights.
