Annotation
This is of course regarding co-founder of the Black Panthers, Bobby Seale, born 22 October 1936 in Dallas, Texas, USA, one of the original high-profile activist arrested outside the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago, along with seven others, called the "Chicago 8". However, the Judge of the trial, Julius Hoffman, ordered Bobby Seale to be bound and gagged for contempt of court on 5 November 1969. He was tried separately, and thus the eight became the "Chicago Seven". This record is a re-enactment of that moment (Certron # CSS2-2001). The first track "Bobby Seale Speaks Live" is the actual voice of Seale. The other two tracks, "Beginning of Trial" and "Trial Of Bobby Seale" were enactments. Notes
It was described on the front of the LP as "a dramatic, historical re-enactment of the Chicago Conspiracy Trial, November 5, 1969, as it relates to Bobby Seale and the sentencing of Seale for contempt by Judge Julius Hoffmanback". The back of the LP said it was: "an enhancement to realism in reporting the details of that portion of the official transcript of the trial of the Chicago Seven as it related to Bobby Seale. The trial and the circumstances surrounding the trial are of a national, controversial nature, and therefore, of public interest. We feel that the subject matter is one that will appeal to the general public for information and study purposes, however it may related to the individual who listens"Annotation by Justin A. Brummer
