Annotation — North Vietnamese Songs

Released on the Dihavina record label (# NDS 0001), originally the state label of North Vietnam (Democratic Republic of Vietnam) before reunification in 1975. This record, released in the post-war period, in 1978, contained songs related to the war, in the Nhạc đỏ ("Red Music") genre, typically seen during the war years - this developed at the beginning of the 20th century, containing elements of Western Classical Music, while lyrically focusing on socialism and independence, as well as containing anti-imperialist / colonialist sentiment. It's also influenced by revolutionary music from China and the USSR. Some also contained elements of Vietnamese Folk Music. Recorded in Hanoi, Vietnam, the LP was released and produced in Czechoslovakia. War-related songs included "Tình quân dân" ("Sympathy Between Soldier and People") and "Trên đường chiến thắng" ("On the Road to Victory").
