Annotation — North Vietnamese Songs
Titled "Sul fronte del Viet Nam" ("On the Viet Nam Front"), this 7" gatefold was released in Italy (I Dischi del Sole # DS 57), with the track titles, lyrics, and notes on the sleeve written in Italian. All the songs are sung in Vietnamese, containing elements of Vietnamese Folk Music and Nhạc đỏ. Some have an introduction, spoken in Italian. The artist are credited to the groups of the "RDV", which presumably is supposed to be the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (DRV). Tracks included praising the North Vietnamese leader Hồ Chí Minh - "Benvenuto a Ho-Ci-Min" ("Welcome to Ho Chi Minh"). The final track, labelled as "Inno del Fronte di Liberazione" ("Anthem of the Liberation Front"), is in fact "Giải phóng miền Nam" ("Liberating the South"), composed by the trio Lưu Hữu Phước, Mai Văn Bộ and Huỳnh Văn Tiểng, under the pseudonym Huỳnh Minh Siêng, in 1961, the national anthem of Provisional South Vietnam government.
