Annotation — North Vietnamese Songs
Another 10" record released in Beijing, China, on China Record Company (# M-655), this contained North Vietnamese patriotic songs, sung in Vietnamese, and performed by the Song and Dance Troupe of the Political Bureau of the Vietnam People's Army. The song titles are only written in Chinese - no Vietnamese, or English, suggesting this record was for a Chinese domestic audience. The album title translates to "Sworn to Defend the Motherland", also the title of the final song on the album. The opening track focused on the North Vietnamese leader, Hồ Chí Minh - "胡志明—越南最美的名字" ("Ho Chi Minh - The Most Beautiful Name in Vietnam"). Also included was the well known song "解放南方" ("Liberate the South"). A few other songs also focused on the south of the country: "月亮照南北" ("The Moon Shines North and South"), and "美帝国主义从越南南方滚出去" ("U.S. Imperialism Get Out of South Vietnam").
