Sludge Metal group Eyehategod, formed on 20 April 1988 in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, founded by Jimmy Bower (guitar) and Joey LaCaze (drums), and a somewhat revolving line-up of bass players and drummers. The song "New Orleans Is the New Vietnam" (A389 Recordings # A389-110) used Vietnam as a comparison to contemporary problems, both in the local environment: "downtown mess, uptown wreck... east bank mess, west bank wreck", as well personal frustrations: "put down, burned up... this shit don't quit".
