Death Metal band formed in 1993 in Tampa, Florida, USA, with a revolving line-up, apart from founding vocalist Chris Barnes, former member of Cannibal Corpse. The song "American the Brutal" (Metal Blade Records # 3984-14444-2) was a protest about the Iraq War (2003-2011), referencing the Vietnam War: "I think of my best friend and his stories of Vietnam and now I got a cousin fighting in Iraq". The narrator explained why the Vietnam War is often used for contemporary comparison in songs: "when I want to know the future I look into the past". Like protest songs of the 60s/70s, the narrator pointed the finger at the politicians: "Mr. President I'm not here to do your dirty work", and questioned the justification for the war: "I don't fuckin believe em... worth dying not for oil".
