About the artist
Bobby Newton (Robert L. Newton, 1932-2021), born in Marion, South Carolina, was a soul singer and saxophonist who lived in Reading, Pennsylvania; a co-founder of the Crowns of Israel, he performed with James Brown and Patti LaBelle and cut the Gamble-Sigler-Hurtt song 'When the World's at Peace' for Atlantic (45-2992) in 1974.
