The only single by the group The Nu Page - a studio one-off construction - was the track "When the Brothers Come Marching Home" (MoWest # MW 5037F) about the ending of major US involvement in Vietnam. It was released on the Los Angeles, Californian MoWest, a subsidiary of Motown Records formed by Berry Gordy. It existed between 1971 and 1973. The song was co-written, co-arranged, and sung by Marilyn McLeod (sister of Alice Coltrane) - in addition, she played the keyboard on the track. Melton Bolton played the guitar, and co-wrote the song. Horace Jones also contributed to the songwriting. Gene Page added the strings. (1) Billboard included the song in their soul picks on 3 March 1973 - so it was only released a month after the signing of the Paris Peace Accords (27 January 1973). Like other releases on MoWest, this track blended different genres - this had a smooth soul feel, with very upbeat jazz-funk horns, and it ended with a military drum beat, as the song celebrated the "happy days...good days" as the soldiers returned from Vietnam. The narrator said that now the war had ended, there would be "no more useless dying" and "senseless crying", and nothing but "joy, joy, joy".
