Also a Mambo artist, Pucho, born 1 November 1938, and currently based in US, released the song "Vietnam Mambo" (Prestige Records # 45-426), which was an instrumental, and as above, is a reflection of the growing prominance of the Vietnam War in the news and media. About the artist
Henry "Pucho" Brown Jr. (born 1 November 1938 in Harlem, New York City; died 21 September 2022) was the timbalero and bandleader of Pucho & His Latin Soul Brothers, pioneers of 1960s Latin soul and boogaloo. He took up timbales at 15, worked with Los Lobos Diablos and Joe Panama, formed the Cha Cha Boys which became the Latin Soul Brothers, and signed to Prestige Records in 1966, cutting some eight albums with sidemen including Chick Corea, Steve Berrios and Neal Creque. The band wound down in the 1970s, Brown worked Catskill resort hotels for years, then reunited the band in the 1990s on the…
