Electronic classical composer and musician Martin Wesley-Smith was born on 10 June 1945 in Adelaide, Australia. He died on 26 September 2019 in Kangaroo Valley, NSW, Australia. He was conscripted to the Vietnam War, but avoided service through studying. (1) He originally composed the song "Vietnam Image" in 1970, which clocked in at 20 minutes. He submitted a tape recording of it as partial fulfilment for his degree of Master of Music at the University of Adelaide, in January 1971, which is stored at the National Library of Australia. (2)(3) A version of the song featured on his 1995 compilation Wattamolla Red: Electronic Music (Tall Poppies Records # TP072).
