El Gran Combo, a salsa group formed in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in 1962, released the song "Vas bien" ("You're Doing Well") (Gema # LPG-3044), composed by Pellín Rodríguez - born 4 December 1926, Santurce, Puerto Rico; died 31 October 1984, San Juan, Puerto Rico. This one took a more comic, novelty approach, about how his friends were being sent to Vietnam, and that he would not get caught up in the conflict. Originally released on a Cuban record label.
