Annotation
The Superbs, aka Devotion, formed in New Jersey, USA. Its members included Retta Young, Rhonda Franklin, Phillis Harris, Anita, Henrietta Young, Bertha Addison, and Madge Quince. In the track "So Glad You're Home" (Symbol Records # 8) - written, produced, and arranged by Paul Kyser - a woman's sweetheart had returned "from the service" after two years. During the soldier's service, she "started to date and fool around" because it had been such a long time. But she declared that "I was so wrong...I wanna be your bride". Thus, this was another song about the strain of army service on a relationship. In this case, a slightly different element was added compared to other songs - the sweetheart at home was not faithful, and yet she wanted to make amends.
