Annotation
Formed in 1981, the New Jersey band Mourning Noise released the track "Radical" (Dirt Records # DR-003), dedicated to those that died at Kent State. A live track, it featured on this 1983 compilation of hardcore punk bands. The group have often be classified as horror punk - a blend of punk rock, rockabilly, and horror themes, with references to B-movie and cult horror films. As mentioned, it started with a dedication: "this goes out to all the people that died at Kent State". The lyrics seemed to be from the perspective of a National Guardsmen, who claimed that the "system" supported "neo-commie needs". He declared himself a "radical, fanatical...right wing".& Vietnam War: Punk Songs
