The song "Por Vietnam" (Discoteca del Cantar Popular # JJL-01) by Quilapayún, formed in 1965 in Santiago, Chile. Members included Eduardo Carrasco (wind instruments, vocals), Carlos Quezada (percussion, guitar, vocals), Guillermo Oddó (guitar, percussion, vocals), Hernán Gomez (guitar, charango, vocals), Rodolfo Parada (guitar, tiple, tres, cuatro, zampoña, vocals), Hugo Lagos (strings, quena, zampoña, vocals), and Guillermo García (guitar, percussion, vocals). This album denounced the war in Vietnam and then moved onto other political topics, such as the Spanish revolution and the death of Che Guevara. The narrator warned the US to be careful, saying that "the black eagles break their claws against the heroic people in Vietnam" and that "the guerrilla will defeat you". The album was very popular in Chile, and throughout South America, released in many countries, including Peru, Venezuela, Argentina, as well as in Spain and France in Europe. It is considered to be one of the first albums in the Chilean Nueva canción movement. (1)

Various artist compilation released in Italy, with mainly European artists. But it also included Carlos Puebla's "Los Vietnamitas" (written in Italian - "I vietnamiti"), which was a live version of the song "David y Goliath" (also known as "David and Goliath (The Vietnamese Are Small)" which featured on the album Cancion Protesta: Protest Songs of Latin America and Vietnam canta a Cuba - Cuba canta a Vietnam, discussed on this list. This album also had a version of Quilapayún's "Por Vietnam" (written in Italian as "Per il Vietnam"), originally featured on the 1968 album X Viet-Nam. Released on the record label I Dischi dello Zodiaco (# VPA 8251) from Rozzano, Lombardia, Italy.
