The ranchera song "El padre de un soldado" (Bego # BG-426) ("The Father of a Soldier") by popular Corpus Christi, Texas, USA group Los Dinos, formed in 1957. This looked at the home front perspective, as the title suggested, about a father of a soldier, who was fighting in the Vietnam War. The record was released in in McAllen, Texas, USA, on one of the record labels owned by Arnaldo Ramírez, the others being ARV, Falcon, and Bronco, all Mexican-American focused, based in Texas, USA. He featured in Billboard on 25 November 1972, in an article focusing on the explosion of Tex-Mex music. (1)
