Jimmy Neil - also going under the name The Jimmy Neil Trio and The Singin' Schoolteacher released the track "My Letter to Santa" (Martin Records # MR-101), narrated from the perspective of a child (but actually sung by an adult - the schoolteacher). Not only did the child ask Santa to bring home his father for Christmas, but he also politely asked: "please end this long battle" and "make this the land of the free".
