The song "My Boyfriend's Coming Home for Christmas" (Colpix Records # CP 715) does not actually mention the Vietnam conflict, but the narrator referred to her boyfriend being in the army. It reflected the situation of wives and girlfriends left on the home front. Toni Wine, born in New York in 1947, wrote and recorded this single in 1963 at the age of sixteen. (1) By then, President Kennedy and Johnson had already begun to send small numbers of US troops and advisers to Vietnam, although the US also had a significant number of troops stationed in Germany. The single reached # 22 in the Billboard Christmas singles chart, on 28 December 1963. (2) Jonie Taps and Harry Cohn founded the label Coldpix in 1958, a division of Columbia Pictures, which largely concentrated on music for TV and movies.
