About the artist
The Jones Brothers and the Log Cabin Boys were a Carolinas bluegrass band led by the brothers Bruce and Lee Jones, active from the 1960s into the 1980s and recording for Rural Rhythm, Pine Tree, Playhouse, Leather and Old Homestead. Their version of "Battle Hymn of Lt. Calley" - one of several competing covers issued in 1971 in the wake of the C Company featuring Terry Nelson hit on Plantation - was cut at Reflection Sound Studios in Charlotte, North Carolina and released on Time Records backed with 'This Land Is Your Land'; the studio's location is a session detail and not evidence of the…
