The song "Johnny's Comin' Home" (Mar Records # 45-102) - released on a New York based label in 1962 by the Jogettes, an R&B girl group - they seem to be a one hit wonder, imitating other girl groups by ending their name with "ette". Steve Verroca wrote and produced the song. The track might be too early to be considered specifically about the Vietnam War, but rather more of a general 'soldier boy' song. The narrator received a letter informing her that her sweetheart "Johnny" was on his way back home, so for his impending arrival: "we're going to have a party" and "invite all our friends".
