The post-war 1980s song "Heroes in Black Stone" (Power Discs # PD 5700) by Glen Garrett - originally from Birmingham, Alabama, he moved to Franklin, Tennessee. (1) He wrote this song for the 1986 Veterans Day service at the memorial wall in D.C. In his book, he said that Senator John Kerry (Massachusetts), Senator Al Gore (Tennessee), and Senator John Warner (Virginia) asked him to write the song. (2) (3) Narrated in the first person, the protagonist approached the Wall, reading the names. Release on the Power Discs label, a subsidiary of Benson Records, based in Franklin, Tennessee. Songwriting credit went to Glenn Garrett, Kathy Garrett, and Wayne Kirkpatrick. Produced by Glen Garrett.
