Isabel Parra, born 29 September 1939 in Santiago, Chile, a prominent member of the Nueva canción latinoamericana movement, she collaborated with other well-known artists, such as Quilapayún and Grupo de Experimentación Sonora del ICAIC. The song "Como en Vietnam" (Discoteca del Cantar Popular # DCP 27), took an anti-war position, and described the Vietnamese people as "a distant brother people" - showing solidarity. She described the conflict as the "first line of horror, first line of pain".
