Annotation
Country singer Loretta Lynn included the Vietnam track "Christmas Without Daddy" (Decca Records # DL 74817) on her festive album. It is narrated from the perspective of a soldier's wife. She said that Christmas would be "sadness mixed with joy...blue and all alone". The soldier's son "wrote to Santa", asking for his father to be sent home, as him present. Thus, this song represented the impact of the war on families in the US.
