Atahualpa Yupanqui, born Héctor Roberto Chavero Aramburu, on 22 January 1908 in Pergamino, Buenos Aires, Argentina. He died 23 May 1992, Nîmes, Languedoc-Roussillon, France. He was known for his acoustic guitar playing, part of the Nueva canción latinoamericana. The song "Basta ya!" (Le Chant du Monde # LDX - 7 4457) called for a stop to US interventions, asking the question: "who won the war in the mountains of Viet Nam? The guerrilla in his land". This record was released in France.
