The song "Am I Ever Gonna See My Baby Again?" (Atlantic #2551) does not mention Vietnam, or indeed war, just that a woman's man is over seas, although the narrator's tearful questions - "is he ever coming back?" and "when will it end?" - indicate that he is away at war. Released in 1968, this track is largely associated with the Vietnam conflict. The Sweet Inspirations were a soul group founded in New York in 1967, led by Cissy Houston (mother of Whitney Houston).
