The Shirelles song "(Mama) My Soldier Boy Is Coming Home" (Scepter Records # SCE 12123) released in 1965 can be viewed as an answer to their earlier 1962 hit "Soldier Boy" - in which the narrator promises to stay true to a young soldier heading off to war. In this track, the narrator "just got a letter" informing her that the soldier is returning him. She wanted to "jump and shout" with joy, that "Santa can skip my house", and together "we'll have Christmas everyday".&
