Annotation — US Domestic Perspective Songs
American funk and soul singer Sir Joe Quarterman, from Washington D.C., released the song "(I Got) So Much Trouble in My Mind (Parts 1 & 2)" (GSF Records # 6879) - one of those troubles was the Vietnam War: "there is evolution, much confusion...Vietnam War...trouble in my mind". The other issues concerning the narrator were drug addiction in schools, and his girlfriend was pregnant. At the end of song he noted those overseas "fighting over in Vietnam", who have a "whole lot of trouble". The song also appeared on the 1973 album Sir Joe Quarterman & Free Soul (GSF Records # GSF-S-1009). The song peaked at # 30 on the Billboard R&B chart on 6 January 1973.
