The back of the LP said:

"The songs of the Ho-Chi-Minh jail open this exemplary album and serve as a starting point to delve into these fine poetic expressions of a fighting people. The drama of Viet-Nam, which has given rise to a new dimension to human worth, to its capacity for resistance to suffering, and tempered to the maximum limit its integrity, arouses at the same time indignation and admiration, to the point that nowhere country, and where a division is drawn between the defeat of the most powerful empire and the victory of a poor and modest nation that imposes itself by its proud decision to survive and win.

Poetry has flourished in Vietnamese land with the same need to repel the aggressor, we have compiled poems from both the South and the North and in all of them the urgency to rescue as our own patrimony what was known by the foreigner. And what fine spirituality is expressed in them! It will be noted that the deepest and most eternal human feelings are manifested here: love, nostalgia, memory, the need to fulfill civic duties in the face of threats looming over the country. But, above all, love, love as a nourishing source of the energy of the heart in the midst of battles, love for the companion who shares the sacrifice and sleeplessness, the love that one day will be the supreme conquest of beings in a free land.

No aggression against any nation has aroused so much indignation as the one against Viet-Nam; and the protest has consequently taken on a worldwide character. Since the so-called 'dirty war' began, the international clamor has risen in tone, in the universities and in the labor centers where there may be men with a clear conscience, the repudiation of the massacre and violence has not ceased to be expressed for a single day, adhesion to the combatants.

So also poets from different latitudes and different concerns condemned that war and exalted with love that intrepid and small town. The most important creators of our language, preferably Latin American, were chosen to represent this unanimous song of solidarity with the heroic Viet-Nam. Above all geography these poems come together and a living thread of shuddering passion weaves them together. In order to give greater harmony to these two alternate phases of the song, that of the Vietnamese themselves and that of the Spanish language, and to confer greater pathos and grandeur, Inda Ledesma and Hector Alterio have been chosen, two magnificent interpreters, who harmoniously channel that unique and bleeding song of tribute to Viet-Nam and its faith in its victory. The selection of the poems and the translation of the Vietnamese texts are the work of the Paraguayan poet Elvio Romero. I close this record, accentuating the Argentine adherence, a poem by Armando Tejada Gomez said by himself"
__________
