Annotation — Kent / Jackson State Songs

The record "Death of a Decade: The Kent State Story" featured spoken-word and field recordings about the Kent State killings released in 1975 (Century Advent Recording # USR 7770). It also contained several anti-war song clips, and some referenced those killed at Kent State. The original versions of this LP included 7 prints of photographs, 7 sheets of poems by 10 authors, and a 14 page book of 3 speeches by Peter Davies, Robert Theobald and George Wald. Written, engineered, and produced by Corey Deitz. The recordings came from Kent State University Archive, Office of Radio/TV information, University News Service. The release was organised by the Center for Peaceful Change (since renamed the Center for Applied Conflict Management), established in 1971 in memory of the students killed: "the Center addresses non-violent social change through teaching, research and public service".
