Annotation — Indigenous Americans

Recorded live in 1991 at the 23rd Northern Ute Pow-Wow at Fort Duchesne, Utah, USA, performed by Black Lodge Singers, formed in White Swan, Washington, USA. It contained the track "Vietnam-Desert Storm Song" (Canyon Records # CR-6209) - Desert Storm is of course a reference to the 1990 First Gulf War, and so another interesting example of artists using Vietnam as a comparison point to contemporary events and wars. The label, Canyon Records, was founded in 1951 by Ray Boley and Mary Boley, and largely featured music from Indigenous Americans.
