The track "Sioux Flag Song" (Canyon Records # ARP 6059) sung by William Horncloud, probably released around 1968-1970, although songs seem to have been recorded before this, featuring on various 78s. Notes on the record said "A flag song, which always honors the flag of the United States, is also used to open a formal celebration. There are many of these songs. They are being composed constantly and usually deal with current events, particularly wars: World War II, the Korean conflict, the war in Vietnam–and the brave Sioux boys who participated".1 As mentioned above, the label, Canyon Records, was founded in 1951 by Ray Boley and Mary Boley, and largely featured music from Indigenous Americans.Sources1drumhop.com↩
