Annotation
This is a classical music score to the motion picture film Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan by Caitlin Yeo, based in NSW, Australia. The film was about the famous and iconic battle that took place on 18 August 1966. A small number, approximately 108 Australian and New Zealand servicemen, defended their position against a force of around 2,500 Viet Cong and North Vietnamese regulars, possibly preventing an attack against Nui Dat, the base of the 1st Australian Task Force. It featured 40 tracks, including the title "The Battle of Long Tan". The song titles followed the progress of the battle, from the beginning: "They Were Probing Us", to the battle: "There’s Hundreds of Them", concluding with a tribute to those that died: "In Remembrance". Other songs about the battle are "The Battle of Long Tan" by Graham Rodger (2012), and classical composition "The Battle of Long Tan" (2005) by Gary Nicholas and Phill Knight.
