About the artist
Godfrey Daniel was a studio project rather than a working band, created by Andy Solomon with Dave Palmer, both of the Detroit group the Amboy Dukes, and presented as a group on the sleeve of its only LP; the name is a minced oath popularised by W. C. Fields. Its doo-wop reworking of Joni Mitchell's 'Woodstock' appears on the album 'Take a Sad Song...'
