About the artist
Otis Brown was a Chicago soul singer, producer and label owner who came to Chicago from Memphis with his mother in the early 1950s. With his uncle King David Bevill and with Browley Guy he founded Ole Records in the summer of 1966; "Will You Wait" (Ole O-102, 1966, b/w "What Would You Do") was written by Brown and produced by Guy. He went on to found Lujuna Records, named for his daughter, and the ExSpectMore imprint, working across the Chicago south-side soul scene for about ten years before relocating to Dallas, Texas in 1972 and leaving the music business.
