The New York Dolls formed in 1971, in New York, USA, an influential glam rock and proto-punk group, with their two albums, both released in the 1970s, popular cult records. On this first album, featured lead singer Johnny Thunders (guitar, vocals, 1971-75), as well as David Johansen (vocals, harmonica, gong), Arthur Kane (bass, 1971-75, 2004), Sylvain Sylvain (guitar, piano, vocals, 1971-2011), and Jerry Nolan (drums, percussion, 1972-75). The song "Vietnamese Baby" (Mercury Records # SRM-1-675), released as the war was winding down, looked at its impact on both GIs and US civilians, an important early post-war punk protest against the war. It was released as a single in several European countries, such as the UK: "Vietnamese Baby".
