Annotation

Judy Collins, an American singer-songwriter, born in Seattle, Washington, US (1 May 1939). For most of her career, she lived in New York City, NY, US. In the 1960s she gained a reputation as a social activist. In 1969 she testified in the trial of the Chicago Seven - the seven people arrested outside the Democratic Convention in Chicago in August 1968 for inciting riots. The haunting track "Vietnam Love Song" (Elektra Records # EKS-75014) took a poetic approach, about people dying in Vietnam. Written by Eric Bentley and Arnold Black. Collins performed it live during her 1970 tour, and released it on this album in 1971. It peaked in the Billboard LP charts at # 64 on 29 January 1972. (1) Produced by Mark Abramson.
