About the artist
Garry Sherman (born December 28, 1933, in Brooklyn, New York) was an American arranger, composer and orchestrator active from the 1960s in hit records, Broadway shows, film scores and advertising. He began piano at age four, and while studying medicine and podiatry at Temple University (later interning at the Illinois College of Podiatry) moved into music in the Brill Building, arranging for The Drifters and Van Morrison among others. His film/theater work includes the arrangement for "Midnight Cowboy" (1969), composing for "The Heartbreak Kid" (1972) and the stage musical "Amen Corner"…
