About the artist
Billy Joe Burnette (1941-2016), born in Richmond, Virginia, was a Nashville singer-songwriter and label owner best known for co-writing Red Sovine's 1976 country No. 1 'Teddy Bear'; 'Three Flags' (Badger 1004, recorded December 1989) gave him his only Billboard country chart entry as a singer (No. 90, 1990).
