The song "Somewhere in Vietnam" (Astro Records # JR-40-111) by Randy Collier, of Mobile, Alabama, a traditional pop tune mixed with a little country music, hailed the fight for freedom in Vietnam: "in Vietnam fights a group of boys for...freedom". The spoken-word section contained religious sentiment, as the narrator prayed that "god walk with them to win their fight". At the end of the song, he read out the names of some soldiers whom he looked forward to seeing again, thus adding a person touch to the narrative.
