Annotation

British singer-songwriter Kate Bush on the track "Pull Out the Pin" (EMI Records # EMC 3419) looked at the war from the 'other side'. Bush took inspiration for the song from an Australian documentary which portrayed the Vietnamese as a "really crafted, beautiful race" and the Americans as "these big, fat, pink, smelly things". It claimed that the North Vietnamese popped a silver Buddha into their mouths before they died, to have Buddha on their lips: "with my silver Buddha and my silver bullet, I pull the pin". (1) (2)
