About the artist
John Dill Jarvis (born 21 April 1924 in Manchester, Clay County, Kentucky; died 31 December 2010 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, aged 86) was an American bluegrass and gospel singer, guitarist and songwriter. A thrice-wounded, highly decorated D-Day veteran of the US Army, he settled in Hamilton, Ohio in 1959, ran a painting and decorating business, hosted a long-running show on WCNW Fairfield, and became one of the most prolific bluegrass gospel recording artists of the 1960s and 1970s, cutting for Jewel, Rural Rhythm, Vetco and Heart Warming as well as his own…
