About the artist
Mizax and the Flizaps were an American vocal group whose true identity has never been documented. Their sole record, "On the Other Side" backed with 'Test Me', appeared on ABC Records 11222 in 1969; both sides were written by Carl 'Maxx' Kidd and Robert Bateman, and Sir Shambling's Deep Soul Heaven describes the A-side as 'a strong Vietnam ballad' built on group harmony, adding that 'it wouldn't surprise me one bit if Maxx Kidd himself wasn't part of the group' and noting that Bateman was working out of New York at the time.
