MC5 covered John Lee Hooker's "Motor City Is Burning" (Elektra Records # 45648) - this song was about the 1967 Detroit Riot. It used Vietnam as a reference point to destruction and the burning of a city: "the Motor City is burning people, there ain't a thing that white society can do...worse than Vietnam".
