Annotation
This album contained a few reference to the Vietnam conflict, taking a satire approach to politics. The song "Under All Flags" mocked President Richard Nixon, patriotism (with regards to the flag), and the ongoing conflict: "oh Vietnam is the kind of sham that Nixon gets his kicks on...the president's flag is the kind of rag, that a sane man wipes his ass on". The song "Fight for Liberation" also referenced Nixon and the draftboard: "in the draftboard here we sit covered in Nixon shit...fight for liberation, break the social scheme". The song "Luang Prabang" (Adelphi Records # AD 4101), written by Dave Van Ronk, and performed on this album by Patrick Sky, took its name from a city in Laos, the capital and seat of government until 1975. (1) Ronk's version of the song appeared on the 1984 album Going Back to Brooklyn. It is played to the tune of Byker Hill, an English folk song. Each verse ended with "now I'm a fuckin' hero".
