Annotation

Well-known Canadian-born musician Neil Young (12 November 1945) released the post-war album Tonight's the Night - a post-hippie, post-Vietnam grungy rock album, representing the end of 1960s idealism and counter-culture. Released two years after US direct involvement in Vietnam and the same year as the collapse of South Vietnam, the song "Lookout Joe" (Reprise Records # MS 2221) dealt with the returning Vietnam veterans. Note that young wrote the famous Ohio (1970), with his group Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, about the Kent State shooting. He also recorded the Vietnam War song "Letter From 'Nam" in the 70s, although it was only released in 2021: Neil Young Archives Vol. II: 1972–1976.
